The Head of the Department of Building Structures and Controlled Systems Sergey Deordiev and the Head of Industrial and Civil Construction Department Evgeniy Choroshavin in the frame of an educational business trip in Japan “Timber Construction Without Limits - 2014” together with the delegation of the Association of Timber Construction (Saint Petersburg) have paid a visit to the three cities in Japan.

The participants visited the largest in Japan “POLUS TEC” timber processing plants, producing timber bearing frames and carcass housing systems. They got acquainted with the samples of historical sites of ancient architecture of Japan dated 667 BC.

During an official meeting with the representatives of construction companies of the Association of Timber Construction of Japan Sergey Deordiev gave a report on the latest developments of his Department and Civil Engineering Institute in the field of spatial composite structures for public and production buildings and facilities, as well as low-rise construction. The results of the trip will be introduced into lectures and seminars for undergraduate and graduate students.
